The EITC Pooled Fund: Through the Years

Since 2012, the Economic Opportunity Funders and the EITC Funders Network have administered the EITC Pooled Fund to advance tax fairness and economic opportunity for low-income workers and families through the promotion, protection and expansion of the federal and state EITC, CTC and other tax credits.

Economic Opportunity Funders and EITC Funders Network launch the State EITC Rapid Response Fund.

  • Technical assistance providers: The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and The Hatcher Group

The Fund conducts polling and focus group research with Hart Research.

The State EITC Policy Development Fund is established to provide multi-year support to groups working to build awareness of state tax credit policy in the south.

The Fund develops new EITC messaging with Topos Partnership.

The Fund conducts a retrospective evaluation of the Rapid Response and Policy Development Fund that informs its grantmaking practice and structure of funding.

The State EITC Campaign Fund is established to provide yearlong support to groups in states advancing tax credit policy.

The Fund begins supporting an EITC Data Interactive Tool (now the Program Participation Data Dashboard).

Based on evaluation findings, the Fund begins offering additional support for community engagement work that is aligned with policy work.

The Bernard and Anne Spitzer Charitable Trust and The Rockefeller Foundation join the Fund.

The Federal EITC Campaign Fund is established to inform and advance the expansion and modernization of federal tax credits.

The Fund begins connecting economic security policy and grassroots funders to help create ecosystems of change in states.

The EITC Pooled Fund celebrates 10 years of advancing tax fairness and opportunity.
