Aisha Alexander-Young, Meyer Foundation
Aisha Alexander-Young is a context creator, systems disruptor, and community organizer whose career is focused on the intersection of race, place, and quality of life. She currently serves as Vice President for Strategy & Equity at Meyer Foundation, where she leads efforts to integrate racial equity into all areas of the Foundation’s work internally and externally. Aisha also serves as the Advancement Strategist for Dream Defenders, a movement founded in the wake of the murder of Trayvon Martin, focused on building power and a new vision of freedom and safety in Black, Latinx, immigrant, and working-class communities. She has held leadership positions designing strategies and managing their implementation in local governments, grassroots organizations, political campaigns, and small and large non-profits. In each role, Aisha pushed for and successfully implemented initiatives, programs, and policies developed through a racial justice lens. Aisha is raising a daughter, Hailey, along with her partner, Jeffrey in Ward 4, in what should be the 51st state, DC.
