About the Briefing
This November, all 435 seats in the House of Representatives, 35 of the 100 seats in the Senate, and 36 governorships are up for election.
The results of this year’s elections will determine control of Congress and set the stage for the second half of President Biden’s term of office. Understanding what issues and narratives drove voters and assessing the new policy and funding environment will be critical as we build compelling and successful agendas to advance racial and economic equity and an inclusive democracy.
Join us for a post-election briefing for funders with interactive sessions on:
- The 2022 American electorate (who voted and why);
- How election outcomes will impact opportunities and challenges facing families, workers, and communities across the nation; and
- What the results mean for our work as funders in the short and long-term.

Venue
This event will be at the Madison Hotel, conveniently located in the heart of downtown DC just blocks from the White House.
The Madison is preserved in the duality between the gravitas of its namesake, the 4th President of the United States, James Madison, lightened with a dash of the First Lady Dolley’s wit, energy, and levity.
The Madison draws visitors, families, and locals alike for meals and meetings, overnights and nightcaps, seeing the city and governing the country.
The Madison is a Local 25 union hotel and recognized by Unite Here as a FairHotel. By choosing a union hotel, we are supporting sustainable jobs in the hospitality industry where workers have access to fair wages, quality healthcare, retirement benefits, protection against harassment and discrimination at work, and a means to achieve empowerment on the job.
The Madison is located at 1177 15th Street NW, Washington, DC 20005.
