11:15am | Federal Policy, Budget and Revenue Outlook – What’s in store during the 115th Congress? Noted tax and budget policy expert Bob Greenstein will provide an overview on the key provisions in the federal budget, discuss current and upcoming budget debates, and offer insights on the potential impact on struggling families, workers and communities.

1:15pm | Preparing for and Responding to This Year’s Urgent Threats and Opportunities Participants will have the opportunity to dig deeper on the many interrelated threats at the federal level (including SNAP, Medicaid, welfare reform, immigration) that will hit struggling families and communities of color the hardest. Participants will also engage in small group discussions on how funders and groups on the ground can respond to meet the moment and share and seek advice to advance their work.

3:45pm | A Focus on the States During this session a panel of experts will explore key battles and opportunities in the states, discuss the role states play in building power and moving federal policy, and examine what’s at stake and in play in 2018.
